In the family room you can use a coffee table that has a compartment inside it to keep things. The same for decorated boxes which could be used as end tables. In the bedrooms, there are many alternatives. For the kids' rooms, there are toy boxes accessible that can double as window seats. Is there space under the bed? That's always a great place for containers, and a means to keep things safe, but yet still off the beaten track, therefore making the bedroom appear decluttered.
